Laboratory Fume Cupboards
Laboratory Fume Cupboards serve to control exposure to toxic, offensive, or flammable vapours, gases and aerosols. Fume cupboards are the primary method of exposure control in the laboratory. A typical fume cupboard is a cabinet with a moveable front sash (window) made out of safety glass, connected to a local exhaust ventilation system. A properly used and properly functioning fume cupboard exhausts hazardous gases, dusts, mists, and vapours from a confined location and helps protect workers from inhalation exposure.

Frontier™ Acela Radioisotope Fume Cupboards
Esco Frontier Radioisotope Fume Hood is designed to be used when handling radioactive materials. This specialized fume hood is built with stainless steel internal surfaces (including the work surface) with coved seamless welded corners for easy cleaning and decontamination. Frontier Radioisotope fume hoods have been engineered to provide maximum safety while using low level Alpha and lower level Beta particles. In addition, these hoods provide containment performance similar to that of high performance low velocity fume hoods.

Frontier™ Acid Digestion Fume Cupboards
Esco Frontier PVC Acid Digestion Fume Hood is designed to be used when performing acid digestion applications. This fume hood is not meant for perchloric acid applications. This specialized fume hood is built with unplasticised polyvinylchloride (u-PVC) internal surfaces (including the work surface) and a polycarbonate sash window. Acid digestion applications use very concentrated acids. Therefore u-PVC interior liner is utilized due to its superior chemical resistance. Polycarbonate sash is used as glass is easily etched by hydrofluoric acid, a common acid used in such applications.

Frontier™ Floor Mounted Fume Cupboards
Esco Frontier Floor Mounted Fume Hood is designed to provide comfortable space when users have to deal with large apparatus and hazardous containers. This fume hood is built with horizontal or vertical sliding sashes for ease of access when transporting apparatus into the hood. Although this type of fume hood is sometimes denoted as a walk-in fume hood, it is a misnomer. The user must not enter the hood while an activity generating hazardous fumes exists or when suspected concentration of fumes exists inside the chamber.
